My research revolves around several themes:

I am studying the adoption and use of 3D modeling technologies in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. In particular, I am interested in the role of 3D technologies as Boundary Objects during a process of inter-organizational change in which various actors in the AEC industry reciprocally reconfigure their socio-technical infrastructures and social identities. This work is done within the Path Creation Research Group

I am also interested in the impact of ERP implementations on organic organizational structures and processes. My work focuses on exploring ways to resolve the tension between the rational process logic that is embedded in enterprise systems and the situated logic that is inherent in organizational practices.

Another interest of mine is the application of socio-cognitive theory to the study of information systems. In particular, I use the Theory of Social Representations to explain organizational members’ interpretations of technology during its implementation. Social Representations are suggested as an alternative to the widely used concept of ‘cognitive frames’.

Finally, I am studying the propensity of organizations to engage in radical technology-based innovations. Using quantitative research methods, I explore a range of organizational and industry factors to explain organizations’ tendency to innovate.
