Objective

To further my understanding of and to increase my experiece in the field of publishing by engaging in part time, temporary, or contract work in the industry. Main interests include writing, editing, and marketing. Will consider nonpaying positions.

Skills

Proficient in computer use, including programming (especially C++ and SQL). Some familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, Perl, ASP, VBScript. Experience in marketing, customer service, sales, and human resources management. Have studied and practiced writing in several different media, and have been published in several individually unimpressive periodicals (full list available).

Primarily responsible for development and management of direct mail and email pieces, including conceptualization, copy writing, project management, and campaign metrics compilation and analysis. Additional duties include assisting in product development and data analysis.

Interested primarily in writing and editing short fiction for publication. Also interested in business functions of publishing, including marketing, ad sales, fund raising, and public relations. Will work for print or online publishers, including (but not limited to) periodicals.
