English Projects
Even though I’m a biomedical engineer, I recognize the importance of communication — especially in written form. So, I’m an English minor trying to specialize in tech writing. My classes involve some degree of web design and posting some assignments. These are my projects so far. You can see how I've improved by noting that the most recent projects are at the bottom.
- Proposal Writing for Engineers – This is a large individual project I worked on for the Case Western Reserve University Technical and Professional Communication department. (Don't let that fool you, I got three credits for it as an independent study course.) It tells engineers how and why proposals are written in a techincal report and gives examples in a sample proposal. There are also links to web resources and a chart of text resources.
- SWE advertising – This is an individual persuasive project I worked on for the Case Western Reserve University Society of Women Engineers. It involves flier design, web page design, and a recommendation report.
- Interactive Scripting – This is a group computer documentation project. The site is a tutorial of interactive scripting, teaching users to insert code to improve their pages.
- Drop Shadows – This is just a little page I had to make to post graphics with drop shadows. I made them in Photoshop 5 two different ways, and I explained how to use the “Drop Shadow...” commmand in PS.
- eRin’s eRésumé eResources – This page is a list of web resources for creating an electronic résumé. It’s a good place to start if you’re trying to make one, or if you don't know what one is.
- CWRU Feng Shui – This was a group documentation project. We chose to tell new students at Case Western Reserve University how to arrange their dorm rooms to maximize the energy of the room. If you’re interested, you can compare the huge changes we made from the first version.
