Apparently, there are two midget kiss-cover bands, and they have a fierce rivalry. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/movies/la-et-minikiss11apr11,0,597094.story?coll=la-story-footer I saw mini kiss open for Umphrey's as part of a circus themed New Years show. They weren't impressive, playing air instruments to kiss tracks. I guess it's a novel idea but I don't really think it's all that entertainment. I'm just not amused by midget freak shows. Now, news about feuding bands of midgets. That's comedy gold! Saturday, April 01, 2006
Kate and I headed over to L.L. Bean's pre-season kayak fair at Nashua High. We're in the market for some boats, and had heard about the expo both in the store and from mailings. It seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately, L.L. bean was not interested in taking full advantage of the available natural resources. Nashua High has ready access to some nice bodies of water with the Nashua river, and some associated ponds are in its back yard. Unfortunately, the kayaks were locked in a tediously dry sub-gym. there weren't many vendors. Just Necky, Old Town, Perception, and Wilderness Systems. It was a good start to our kayak search. Kate discovered that she has a lot of options. I discovered that I am a very large person in the world of kayaks. I couldn't fit in a 16ft Wilderness systems boat. Once I squeezed into the cockpit, I realized that I needed at least 2 more inches of length for my feet. It's unreal. I was too tall for a 16 foot boat. Anyway, an older couple turned us onto The New England Paddlesports Show at UNH. the Kittery Trading post sponsors this event with a lot of vendors, and hopefully demo ability. I'm interested in seeing more Necky's, P&H Sea kayaks, and Current designs. If Impex has cheap models I'd give them a whirl. |
