So much for my fiscal planning and budgeting. The wagon of death has decided to croak about 2 quarters before I was ready to replace it. The transmission has gone on strike, and will only use two gears. This gives me a max speed of roughly 55 mph. Commuting on Route 3, that speed will either be adequate or make me road kill.

I wish they'd go ahead and announce the re-org. I'd feel 100% more comfortable getting an auto loan if I were convinced that my job was going to remain. I've heard a lot of discussion that there would not be any layoffs, but I don't want that question gnawing at the back of my mind as I sign up for an auto loan.

I hear that gateway has a 4% loan for people who open new savings accounts. It will take a long time of paying 4% interest to equal a transmission repair/replacement.

I'll probably have to say goodbye to my kayak and pour my tax refund back into my car. We'll see what sort of terms I get. I'm looking at off-lease (03 or 03) Jettas.

It's been eons, two Umphrey's shows, and nice Percy Hill gig since I made a legitimate post. Now, it's the wee hours of the morning - actually 7:15 isn't too bad. On a normal day, I'd already be at work slaving away for unrecognized, under-appreciated overtime.

It's easter weekend, and there's still snow on the ground. Mud season is not quite upon us. Unfortunately, there isn’t really enough snow for local snowshoeing and not really enough dirt for a leisurely hike through one of the wilderness preserves in the area.

Now that Kate has a semi functional thumb, I'd like to do something outdoorsy. I missed out on a season of winter hiking, because we put all of our eggs in the ski basket - and it didn't quite work out. Silly thumbs... Maybe we'll get to beaver Brook today.

Yep. I seem ambivalent. I feel ambivalent. the details of daily activity seem much less important than the company with whom I share the hours. Of course, by all of this, I mean that I'm with Kate, her thumb, and I'm happy.

Also, octopuses run with two legs.
