Advertising
The importance of advertising is something not to be overlooked. Being a new group we strive to gain more visibility in the USG and on the Case Campus in general. Here are some of the ways in which we try to get our group known:
Logo
We are currently looking to design a logo for our group. Your input would be greatly appreciated! We have had some good ideas thus far.
Student Activities Fair
We participated in the 2007 Student Activities Fair held at Freiberger Field on Saturday, August 25th. Here is what we did for our table:
- Created a poster with pictures of our visits.
- Handed out brochures with candy attached.
- Offered a signup sheet for interested students (we got ~80 signees!).
Paper Advertising
We have so far tried 2 forms of paper advertising:
.
Internet
We are currently exploring 2 forms of internet advertising:
Service
We are currently looking into participating in the Center for Civic Engagement and Learning's (CCEL) "Saturday of Service" event as a means of boosting our reputation within the Case community.
This event allows CCEL to promote service to the Case community without having the burden of a long term commitment. This is done by providing students with the opportunity to participate in small one day service projects in the local community once a semester. In the past, CCEL has done the site recruting along with all the logistics involved with organizing the event (including volunteer recruitment). This semester CCEL has begun a co-sponsoship program with Case where the co-sponsor would be responsible for:
- Providing some volunteers
- Designate a site leader
- organize the event
- fill out a questionaire after the event detailing what was learned
- be the contact person for the event
- Provide transportation to the site
CCEL would then add to the particular co-sponsored event additional volunteers needed.
We have decided that this would be a good way to possibly get some Case students hands on experience with working with kids while learning what we do at the same time and thus realizing the the opportunity is out there to be a mentor to middle school students.
See Saturday of Service Meeting Minutes for minutes to the planning meetings.
