A Note from Ellen the SparX Goddess
Hello everyone!
A few key bits of information before you embark on your journey to the apparently very soon to be snowy Cleveland:
1) We are not canceling the weekend! We've had a few questions about that, but rest assured that frozen water will not stop the dancing. All of the instructors are either here or will arrive before the snowstorm, so there will be plenty of awesome lessons for you to attend.
2) Beware Cleveland roads! Many of them have ridiculously large potholes (particularly eastbound on Chester), and I'd hate for one of you to blow out a tire on your way here. Also, a lot of Cleveland roads have speed cameras at intersections and at random points on the road. These will get you for speeding as well as running red lights, so obey the traffic laws! (And you can't talk your way out of these tickets-- they will find you in the mail and you will owe them serious cash.)
3) Bring sticky shoes!! I'm dead serious about this. Carlton Commons gets super slick, even with repeated mopping. Unless you plan to do bal the entire weekend, you will want to have a grippier sole. Also, you'll want sticky shoes for the aerials classes.
4) The Friday and Sunday dances are casual, but get snazzy for the Saturday Boilermaker dance. You don't have to wear a tie or a dress, but something prettier than your sweat stained T-shirts would be much appreciated!
5) Auditions for the Level 3 track will begin at 9:30am sharp! This means you should arrive before 9:30am on Saturday to change shoes, stretch, etc. The auditions will be group jack and jill style with a tap-in sort of deal, so if you arrive late, you risk not being seen by the instructors. We have limited space for some of the level 3 lessons, so we physically cannot make exceptions for late-comers once the track is full. This track is also only open to full weekend registrants.
That's enough until you all get here,
(18 hours and 2 minutes...)
Ellen
