Pledging Sigma Chi is a process of learning, inspiration, and achievement; it does not include hazing, degradation or humiliation. While each pledge must complete the learning process which leads to Initiation in Sigma Chi, that is accomplished only in a positive and constructive manner. The Fraternity's requirements and policy on this subject are printed in full in the Governing Laws section of The Norman Shield, the pledge manual which each pledge is given upon his installation as a pledge.

Pledge Process Facts:

Sigma Chi has a Zero Tolerance Hazing Policy. At no time is hazing appropriate

The program is a seven week program with weekly meetings and study hours

Pledges are encouraged to become involved on campus

Pledges are paired with a Big Brother/Mentor to assist in all aspects of college life

Our minimum GPA for initiation is 2.5

The pledge class works together on several projects including a service project

A great chance to build life long friendships with brothers and within the pledge class
