Learn About Case's Chapter of EWB
|
|
January of 2003, several Case students were encouraged to start a student chapter
of EWB by Professor Sreenath of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
Department. The reaction of the Case community has been extremely positive. Now three
years later, EWB-Case has evolved into a group of over 60 students with a wide
variety of academic backgrounds including: all the fields of engineering and most of
the sciences along with many of the social sciences and humanities. EWB-Case is
currently involved in several major projects, some of which are already being
implented while others are still in the design phases.

Members of EWB have been invited to give presentations
to President Hundert and the Dean's Advisory Council, to meet with members of Cleveland
Society of Engineers, and to interview with a writer of Case Engineering magazine. Dean
Savinell approved funding for the 2004 and 2005 EWB National Conferences as well as
funding for representatives of EWB to travel to the Dominican Republic to help get the
first international project started. The administration and the students alike believe
in EWB's mission.
