The Engineers Without Borders President, Alicia Baughman, and Project Coordinator, Katherine Schaad, were very honored to give a presentation to the Dean's Advisory Council and a few students on Friday, October 15 th . The invitation to come speak to this influential audience shows that the University is very interested in supporting our organization. Alicia and Katherine would like to extend their thanks to the DAC for the invitation and to all who had a part in making this possible.
Alicia shared with the audience the mission and vision of EWB, and then explained how we are implementing that mission and vision on the local level. She explained what our chapter has done so far, such as the elementary school project and the MTV-U booth, and then touched on some of our future goals, such as the Cleveland-Drive.
Katherine then spoke to the group about the work that EWB is capable of doing on the international level. She explained to them the need for EWB around the globe and then spoke more specifically about what our chapter's international project that we are developing through the Case-DRIVE. She also explained how important EWB is to the students of Case and the University overall, then ended the presentation with the needs of our organization. The audience was very receptive and had great questions and comments to follow the presentation.
