Road Riding around Cleveland

This page is under construction. If you have any content you want here, email it to the webmaster.

There are some good road rides leaving from campus. Most often, training rides head east along one of many roads (such Fairmount) into the Chagrin Valley. You'll know when you're in the valley when you're speedometer is reading around 45 mph down the ~2 mile descent. Follow Chagrin River Road or any number of other roads. Possibly take a quick spin around one of The Metroparks in the area. Then be prepared to climb your way out. There are some shallow but long climbs, but for the most part a road like Old Mill or Fairmount can get you out quickly without too much struggle.

If you're more interested in a slower ride and don't mind some crushed limestone, check out the Towpath.

Additionally, several groups hold regular rides leaving near campus.

  1. Square Wheels
    • - local USCF club, see more on their messageboard
    • - rides Tues/Thurs evenings and Sat mornings, leaving from the church parking lot, on the corner of Fairmount & Eaton
  2. Western Reserve Wheelers
    • - has both A and B groups depending on your skill level
    • - check out schedule and rides on their website
