How to become a member of the Case Cycling Club

Case Cycling Club Philosphy: To promote the sport of cycling by providing excellent opportunities for members to practice and compete in mountain, road, and recreational cycling events with fellow students, faculty, and staff.

The first thing you should do is sign up for the mailing list. You can do this at https://lists.case.edu/wws/info/cycling. You will then be in the loop, as most announcements are sent via email.

Then, to become an official member of the Case Cycling Club you must print and fill out the Membership Release Form. Then email Nick Brehl (nicholas.brehl[AT]case.edu) and set up a time to meet and take care of dues ($10 per semester, cash or check payable to Case Cycling Club). Or, you could bring the release form and money to any cycling club meeting or event.

Why should I pay dues?

• Get your racing fees (and associated costs... gas, lodging, food, etc.) reimbursed by the club.
• Spin Bike Shop discount for club members: 15% off parts/accessories, 50% off professional bike fitting, reduced labor rates
• Borrow club equipment
  • (1) set of rollers and (3) resistance trainers for indoor workouts
  • (1) four-bike Yakima roof rack with wind-jammer
  • Park Tool Kit (Advanced Mechanic Kit AK-37)  
  • Road bike 
• Free winter indoor traning classes (on LeMond RevMaster stationary bikes) at Veale
• Participation in club sports is great for a resume. You can get involved in a leadership role as well and help manage a several thousand dollar budget.
• Trips to places such as Snowshoe Mountain or down the Towpath and through the Metroparks
• Learn bicycle maintenance (take classes provided by OCBC and learn from other members and our clinics)

Only members with dues paid AND a membership form turned in are allowed to take advantage of the aforementioned items. Seriously, it's about the cost of a meal from Quizno's for an entire semester of camraderie, free pizza, racing, etc.
