April 17, 2004 Races at the Lake Road Race Photo GalleryHere's a few pictures that go along with some good stories from the RATL. First of all, I found out Nick Perera is a little nutty since he rode his bike to and from the race (it was more than an hour drive) and still manages to finish towards the front of the main pack in the CAT 2 race. Then, me and Don are late and struggle to get through registration to make the start and the official ends up starting without Don. Then we realize neither of us has any water. So I decided to sprint on the third lap for kicks and giggles before I dropped out (and yes I won the 3rd lap, which is an important one since you can't have the final lap without it). And then John gets attacked by the killer cyclocrosser a quarter mile before the finish and has to settle for middle of the pack. Crazy day. The pictures are all from either the CAT 4 or CAT 2/3 races, since the photographer (me) was in the CAT 5 race.
