When Marcon 44 announced its theme for 2009 would be "British Invasion", The Confused Greenies knew they had to bring their greatest show to date - a silly sci-fi farce parodying such cult classics as Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly and whatever else could not run away fast enough (and even some that could!). The rest, as they say, is history. Or future history. Or alternative history? Time travel is so confusing! After a full run of three performances at CWRU, it was time to take it up a notch for the fandom crowd, including more cast, more costumes, more props, an expanded "Secret to Sci-Fi Physics", refined "Cardiff-Field" footage, a decked out Dalek named Skarino, and a brilliant soundtrack! Performing immediately after the Dyskworlde Players' production of Terry Pratchett's The Fifth Elephant, The Confused Greenies packed the room before the show even began! The chaotic cries and jovial laughter were so much they disturbed the neighboring events but those panelists enjoyed hearing the production and asked for the troupe to be invited back in 2010! Before The Confused Greenies left the con, it was decided to create the troupe's first ever sequel for next year - Dottore Who's Bodacious Excellence! |
