Strange Case of Dottore Gratiano and Mister Punch

i Gelosi at the Masquearde
January 30 & February 6, 2009
i Verdi Confusi is planning to stage another Sixteenth Century scenario from i Gelosi, the most famous commedia dell'arte troupe in history, at both the Barony of the Cleftlands Regular January Event and our Second Annual Masquerade Dance at CWRU!

Zommedia: Farce of the Undead
Spring 2010
Pantalone and Dottore Gratiano are frantically getting ready for their children's wedding. The zanni servants are foolishly assisting. The pompous Capitano Testosteroné and the scheming Brighella are plotting. And the young innamorati are oblivious in love. So, the standard commedia plot! What could possibly go wrong? At least until hordes of undead Zanbies show up! (Shows in both Cleveland and Marcon!)

Dottore Who's Bogus Excellence
April 23 & 24 and May 29, 2010
It's our first ever sequel and the bumbling traveler of the Multiverse, Dottore Who is back! It's a time-hopping adventure to excellent moments in history as Dottore with his companions the sexy alien babe Colombina and the zany Arlecchino try to save recovering Red-Shirt Flavio "Flav" Logasono from a bogus plot to erase his timeline! Helping them along the way is the invulnerable but cowardly Capitano Harcnessy and Flavio's best bud Cinzio S. Prestesimono, Esq.! (Shows in both Cleveland and Marcon!)

It's Just a Red-Hair Ring
June 2010
Pantalone and Dottore Gratiano's prior crazy plots to win over a lady of fortune have failed and left them penniless but with a huge surplus of red-yarn wigs. So they scheme to convince everyone that red hair is the latest fashion! i Verdi Confusi returns to its roots for a third year and third yarn about red-wigs and mistaken identities at the Barony of the Cleftlands Northern Oaken War Maneuvers XIII!

Sheer Curiosity: the second naughty show
August 2010
Before i Verdi Confusi's first naughty show at Pennsic 2009 was over, the crowds were clamoring for another risque play in 2010! The sassy Colombina frets that the silly and oblivious innamorati, Flaminia & Flavio, will be clueless come their wedding night. So she endeavors to give them both some hands-on training - at least if they can find a clue!

Hamlettio: the Tragi-Comical Prince of Ravenna
When the scheming Vittoria and the greedy Pantalone plot to kill the Old Doge, the young prince Hamlettio is horrified - as all his tuition money has been cut! The servants Colombina and Pedrolino try to convince Hamlettio of the truth, but with the zany Arlecchino disguised as the ghost, a troupe of confused commedia actors doing the wrong play, the love-struck Ophelia pretending to be crazy to get Hamlettio's attention, the cowardly swash-buckling Capitano Laertes, the bombastic Dottore Corambis, and the Old Doge who isn't quite dead, there's bound to be something a fool in the state of Ravenna!

Go for the Juggler
The miser Pantalone is stressing over the cost of his daughter's wedding - especially after her choice of hiring a troupe of jugglers to entertain! But Capitano Testosteroné has other plans when he kidnaps the fair Isabella and it's up to a Duel of Jugglers to free her!

Pantalone's Wooly Plague
In Fall 2003, the CWRU Medieval Society performed the medieval French farce of The Worthy Master Pierre Patelin. Some of the research into theatre from the Middle Ages and Renaissance would later lead the early foundation of The Confused Greenies. Here, we celebrate some of our distant roots with a commedia dell'arte parody of greed, swindling, love, fake diseases, mistaken sheep, and six yards of green wool!

A Three Hour Tempest
Just kick right back, And you'll watch a farce, A farce of a pitiful trip, That started from a Sicilian port,
Aboard this dingy of a ship...

The mate was a foolish patchwork man, The cap't boastful for sure. Five passengers set sail that day -
That's five, not four (That's five, not four).

The rigging started getting tough, The zany crew was lost. The ship would've been up to code,
If not for the cost (If not for the cost).

The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted Spanish Isle with...
Arlecchino... Capitano too...
The Miser... And his Wife...
The Commedia Star... Il Dottore... and Smeraldina...

Here on Prospero's Isle!

When the wizard Prospero sinks the wrong ship, his island is suddenly besieged by the likes of Capitano Testosteroné, his first mate Arlecchino, and their passengers including the famous Isabella Andreini of i Gelosi. Can Prospero fix this mess to get his revenge? Will Miranda find true love from a ship full of fools? Will Caliban find Arlecchino too primitive and impulsive even for him? And can Capitano get them all rescued within three hours so he can make his date with the all-women crew from the Isle of Lesbos?

Collegiate Curmudgeonry
The Confused Greenies go back to their roots of the first commedia play performed at Carnevale at CWRU in 2005 with a brand new and more improvisational form! The miser Pantalone frets over the cost of his daughter's college tuition. The sappy Camilla and her dippy boyfriend Leandro fret over going to the same school together. The geeky Arlecchino frets about meeting girls at university. And the posing conman Capitano Testosteroné plans to manipulate all this tuition tribulation to his advantage posing as an academic professor. Luckily the sassy housekeeper Colombina has a better plan!
