Buon Giorno! Welcome to The Confused Greenies - The Greatest, The Loudest, and The Most Pompous commedia dell'arte troupe at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio! We will also answer to (unless we owe you money) i Verdi Confusi - The Greatest of The Newest commedia dell'arte troupe in the Middle Kingdom of the Society of Creative Anachronism!

During the fall our meetings and rehearsals are normally held in Nord Hall 410 on the CWRU campus, Sundays 4:00 to 8:00pm and Thursdays, 7:00 to 9:00pm. For the SCA members, additional rehearsals are held Wednesdays 8:00 to 10:00pm at the Cleftlands weekly meetings.

If you some how have not already seen us, commedia dell'arte is a a fun and hilarious theatrical art form originating as sponsored street performances in Sixteenth Century Renaissance Italy. Commedia employs masks, exaggerated stock character archetypes, satire, farce, slapstick, innuendo, naughtiness, and repetition to create plays from brief outline scenarios to which the actors improvise the dialogue and action! You've probably seen the successors to the commedia lineage in modern day comedies. If you still insist on knowing more, we The Confused Greenies will provide with ongoing performances and workshops!!
