The University Hospitals Department of Radiology has a Buker/Seimens 4T fMRI that is equiped to do human brain functional imaging, with an integrated stimulus display and response collection system (Avotech), an eye tracker, and a choice between birdcage and 8-channel headcoils.
The CWRU campus has a fully functional mock scanner with the same stimulus display, response collection and eye-tracking capabilities as the true scanner. This is available to practice and train research participants without taking up valuable time in a real fMRI scanner.
Attached to the Mock Scanner is a computer lab with data storage and analysis capabilities (including software licencese for BrainVoyager & Matlab (SPM)).
Case Center for Imaging Research, a joint venture between Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and University Hospitals of Cleveland, extends the strategies that have led to successes in bringing novel imaging technologies to the CWRU campus, expands interdepartmental collaboration and interdisciplinary research and facilitates CWRU’s becoming an emerging leader in imaging research. |
