Developmental Staging Experiment

The zebrafish embryo undergoes several stages in order to mature from embryo to an adult zebrafish. Before you begin, there are some things to keep in mind:

  • zebrafish embryos are telolecithal (most of the embryo consists of yolk)
  • cleavage only occurs at animal pole which consists of yolk free cytomplasm
  • cleavage is meroblastic (does not completely divide the cell)
  • blastodisc only becomes embryo

After being given some more background information, you will be presented with several zebrafish stages and will have to put them in correct order.
