>>The President's Award ($400 for year 2005)
Since 2003 the President's Award has been given in honor of the outstanding leadership and service of the President of Case Western Reserve University. The President's vision and contribution to excellence in education at CASE has helped to sustain the forward progression of scientific inquiry amongst graduate students. This award is given in honor of the President of Case Western Reserve University, Dr. Barbara Snyder and her goals to pass on the torch of knowledge that lights our path for a brighter future. The best Oral Presentation will be given the distinct honor of receiving the President's Award.
>>The Cleveland Clinic Award ($200 for year 2005)
Since 2003 the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Award is given in honor of the outstanding partnership and collaboration between the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Case Western Reserve University. The Cleveland Clinic Foundation has long served as a beacon of light in many biomedical research breakthroughs. The efforts to partner with this world class institute have lead to the creation of the Cleveland
Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, which will enroll their first class in the summer of 2004. The Cleveland Clinic Foundation has long been a champion for supporting students in their pursuit of research and education. The runner-up of the Oral Presentation Competition will be given the distinct honor of receiving the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Award.

>>The Marcus Singer Award (3 awards, $150 each for
year 2005)
Marcus Singer was a respected member of the Case Western
Reserve University CASE School of Medicine faculty. He is known for his devotion to scientific excellence and social awareness of science. Traditionally,since 1992, the Marcus Singer award has been given to the best oral research presentation by a graduate student. This year, three of the Best Poster Presentation winners will be given the distinguished honor of receiving the Marcus Singer Award.

Jonathan Leis Award (3 awards, $150 each for year 2005)
Jonathan Leis was a member of the Case Western Reserve
University School of Medicine faculty from 1979 to 1999. His contributions
to the Molecular Virology Program and Biomedical Sciences Training Program
have greatly enhanced the education of graduate students. In honor of
his accomplishments and service to the CASE School of Medicine three
of the Best Poster Presentation winners will be given the distinguished
honor of receiving the Jonathan P. Leis Award.
>>The
Vance Lemmon Award (2 awards, $150 each for
year 2005)
Vance Lemmon was a devoted faculty member for 15 years
in the neuroscience department at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In 2003 he joined the faculty at the University of Miami were he continues
to perform outstanding research for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. For much of his time at Case he served as the advisor for the Biomedical
Graduate Student Symposium and his leadership helped to bring the symposium to higher levels of excellence. Dr. Lemmon has long been a champion and
supporter of graduate students and their professional development. In the same spirit of Dr. Lemmon's dedication, commitment and pursuit
towards excellence in science, four of the Best Poster Presentation winners will be given the distinguished honor of receiving the Vance Lemmon Award.
