We are a diverse group of undergraduates, graduate students, and other affiliates of the Case community with one thing in common: we love to dance! Hailing from all sides of campus: from English and French majors to nurses and dental students to athletes, piano performers, and art students to researchers, pre-med students, and engineers you're sure to find someone among us with similar experiences. We are a passionate group of dancers ranging from interested newcomers to seasond veteans frequently social dancing around Cleveland as well as strutting our stuff representing Case on the competitive floor in locales all across the country.
For dances, we compete International Latin (Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive), International Standard (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Viennese Waltz), and American Rhythm (Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero). On the social dance floor you'll find us dancing all of the above and Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Hustle, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, and even a little Polka and Line Dance.
When we're not competing, we're either practicing or heading out on the town for social outings around Cleveland. Feel free to check our calendar and stop by to see what we're up to!

Case Ballroom: a History
Our competitive team is going through a resurrection of sorts. After a strong period in the early and mid 1990s, membership fell and the team went through a low period. Over the last few years, this has changed and the team has begun to grow again. In 2003, on a whim, the team, as small as it was, decided to attend Ohio Star Ball. Since then, with some new coaches and a small group of dedicated dancers, we have made this a tradition.
We've added Ohio State, Purdue, and Arnold Classic to our competitive repertoire and have consistently brought more and more couples to these competitions. At first, we only had couples dancing newcomer, but now are represented in in bronze and even into some silver divisions. We've even added a formation team which we brought into competition in March of 2007, winning second place and a scholarship at the Pittsburgh Dancesport Championships.
Currently, we are focusing on the bronze syllabus with three hours of coaching each week. This is supplemented with two, 2-hour days of practice. Many of us never thought we'd be in this position, so if you'd like to try dancing and you've got a little competitive streak, come on and check us out.
