Our House
| |
L iving in the house is amazing. Whether your night includes a random reporter begging the chapter to be on the evening news or an impromptu snowball fight with some fraternity guys, there is always some crazy fun to be had at Alpha Phi.
The network of support is wonderful. If a sister wants to complain about her day there are thirty other girls to listen or if she got an A on a test she can record it on our scholarship board. Even in the TV room sisters share their corny but favorite Lifetime movies or an episode of "Grey's Anatomy." Courtesy and respect mark the sharing of our kitchen, bathrooms, and common living areas. Living among your sisters really strengthens the bonds of sisterhood.
O ur house is located on Magnolia Drive, next to the Delta Tau Delta house and behind Leutner Commons. Our house consists mainly of double rooms, with single rooms reserved for the President and Vice-Presidents. The inside of our house is beautiful, with vaulted ceilings, hardwood and carpeted floors, a basement with a great amount of storage space, a chapter room, a TV room, a study room on the first floor, a kitchen, a dining area, and a large yard. We also have our own parking lot attached to our house for sisters with cars. According to Housing, in-house Alpha Phis have more living space per person than any where else on campus!

Welcome to our Living Room

The Alpha Phi house has its own chef and meal plan. It is significantly less expensive than the campus meal plan, and almost all sisters living in the house choose this option. Al is a professional chef for a restuaurant in Cleveland. He cooks a variety of delicious meals with main dishes, sides, and desserts for everyone. There is always fresh food and plenty of treats in the pantry for breakfast and lunch.
Alpha Phi does not require all sisters to live in the house. Our house can hold a maximum of thirty-seven sisters, but we only need thirty to live in the house. Living in the house is optional, as long as we meet our minimum requirement. With as many sisters as we have, we have always been able to fill our house!
T he Alpha Phi's also have a house mom living with us, Jackie S.
The Alpha Phi house is substance-free housing, through both campus housing policy and our international policy.
