"I am, and ever will be, a white-socks, pocket-protector, nerdy engineer - born under the second law of thermodynamics, steeped in the steam tables, in love with free-body diagrams,
transformed by Laplace, and propelled by compressible flow."
AIChE at CWRU
With over 40,000 members worldwide, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers is the field's leading professional organization. Since 1908, the institute has aided chemical engineers in their educational and professional development, through networking opportunities, career resources, technical societies and more.
The student chapter at Case Western works to promote relationships between peers, among the department, and with professionals in the area. We sponser an array of different events that create social and academic bonds between students and faculty, recognize accomplishments in the department, and help to enrich chemical engineering students' experience here at the university.
Welcome Class of 2014
AIChe and the Chemical Engineering department extend their warmest welcome to the newest members of Case Western Reserve' campus.
For any incoming freshman interested in chemical engineering, we encourage you to sign up for our Welcome Days SatCo: The Life of a Chemical Engineering Student. This event will give you a glimpse of the various opportunities available within the department, such as internships, research, and study abroad programs. It will also give you the chance to meet upperclassmen and faculty in a laid back and social setting. See our Events page for more details.
Meet Your Officers
Newly elected last spring, AIChE's newest officers are eager to continue the organizations's tradition of being a strong academic, professional, and social facility in the chemical engineering department. They are also looking forward to making improvements in the group in order to provide more opportunities and resources for its members. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions about the organization or any of our events, the officers would love to hear from you. Please see the Officers page for contact information.
