While Nate and I were taking a break, I started to smell something blowing in off the ocean that smelled worse than the usual dead fish odor, so I explored the area and stumbled across this guy lying on the beach. I don't know how long he'd been dead, but his eyes were gone and a large portion of his skin was too. It was fairly disgusting. Never did find out what happened to him, but I guess there had been quite a few dead seals in the area that summer. Probably had nothing to do with pollution, though.
